On 26th December 2019, 175 overseas student federation chairmen and youth leaders gathered at the Jinshanling Great Wall in northern Beijing. The four activities of Providence Academy lasted for four days. Through open classes, round table classes, closed-door meetings, debates and company visits, Providence Academy shared their insights and industry experience with ten guest instructors, and jointly discusssed the infinite possibilities of youth in China and the world.
In the fourth phase of Providence Academy, ten guest instructors brought wonderful Providence courses to the students. Mr. Fu Chengyu, former chairman of Sinopec and an alumnus of the University of Southern California, brought the first lesson of the four phases of "Study abroad and the future of China" to the students: an in-depth analysis of the current global energy trend, the current situation of the domestic energy stuation and the reasons behind it, and exchanged with the students the role that international students should play in today's international geopolitics, China's rise, Sino-US relations and other trending topics.
In addition to the wonderful courses, the trainees also visited a number of well-known Chinese companies in Beijing to learn about the development historu and future directions of companies in different fields in China. Together with Chinese companies, Providence Academy also appeals for more Chinese students to return to the motherland to participate in the next stage of development of China.
In the fourth phase of the activities, the students went to Liepin Headquarters, Xiaomi Headquarters, China Center of Chinese and Foreign Entrepreneurs Federation and Lenovo Star for corporate visits. He conducted in-depth exchanges with business founders in the fields of human resources, Internet and smart hardware, cooperation and exchanges between Chinese and foreign companies, angel investment and returnee entrepreneurship.
During the fourth phase of activities of Providence Academy, the management team of the college also sumarized the development provess of the college and the distribution of alumni associations in 2019. At the same time, it reviewed the "First Chinese International Students Forum" hosted by Providence Academy and Hundred Schools Federation, the "White Paper on Chinese Overseas Students", the "Thousand Volumes of Providence" plan, etc., and released a new plan for the "Road to Providence", and held closed-door seminars around the three themes of youth responsibility, innovation and entrepreneurship, and poetry and the distance.
During the traditional event of Providence Academy, the Providence Cup Debate Competition, representatives of international students from various countries and regions discussed "Should university education be market-oriented?", "Does the Internet make people farther apart?" and "Does the world need superheroes?". The three debate topics launched three fierce yet wonderful debate, bringing the atmosphere of the event to a climax.
